Variable in Space (Again)

Hi hackers,
I asked this question like a month ago but I got no answers. I'm re-posting it hoping a better outcome. It's very suprising the silence of this list when a developer (or low level) question comes into account.
The question is: I would like to have a "distinguished" variable associated with each space. As the value of this variable depends on the pruning performed by the propagator, the variable should be accesable in the propagate function of the C++ propagator. Having a safe, correct reference to the current space in the propagate function would be ideal, since with that reference one could get access to the variables of the space. Is there a way of defining such a reference and the variable? Any ideas?
I will be happy to give more information on my problem, if someone needs it.
Thanks in advance,
Jorge A. Pérez
