Dear Camilo and Juan,
We had a small discussion here at UCL about your message. As we want
you to get more involved into Mozart, we propose the following "plan".
First make one or several MEPs for concretes changes or additions to
Mozart. The real interval constraint system, and the soft constraint
system are good examples. You can also propose bug fixes (look at the
Mozart bug tracking system). Acceptance of these MEPs will give your
group effective access to Mozart's sources, and also responsability on
your work.
We will provide as much help as we can for you to succeed. (Christian,
Denys, do you agree?) Some knowledge transfer will probably take place
then. Maybe we can provide some help here at UCL, though we are not
experts in the constraint system's implementation.
Hopefully the acquired knowledge will make you de facto experts of the
Mozart constraint system. Your responsibility in its maintenance will
automatically grow as your expertise. This can go pretty fast, due to
your past works. We can make this responsibility official if you want so.
This is more or less how I got involved into Mozart as a developer. My
development served as a learning process, and gave me some expertise in
Mozart's implementation.
Cheers,
raph
