"Reply To:" in these lists?

This is definitively NOT the common case.  If you want to restrict a 
discussion in the private, make it explicitly.

The current situation is problematic to me.  Regularly discussions 
accidentally go to the private.  Newbies often do that.  In most cases, 
I have to ask them to repost their message in the list!  I had to do 
this twice last week with the same guy.  I ended up by replying: "I will 
not reply your message until you repost it on the list."

IMHO, "reply-to hackers" should be the default.
