If I remember correctly, in A. Wolkow's Russian retelling of the  
story, there is a "Violet Country" inhabited by people who are great  
craftsmen (and perhaps even engineers). I feel software libraries are  
better named after this people ;-) Don't recall any specific name of  
this people, though.

I vaguely recall that the tin woodman was made the ruler of this  
country and they regularly repaired him etc... In the original story  
by Baum, the tin woodman appears to be the ruler of the yellow Winkie  
Country though..

Any more specific ideas on this tribe?

Perhaps any proposals for a completely different name?
