Leif of course intended to say "statically TYPED".

Simplicity and portability in this area of project management is the
thrust of my new `ozmake' approach. In essence, this involves a
portable Oz-based alternative to makefiles (or project files). My
intention is that this tool will have a command line interface, a GUI
interface, and an API interface for further extensions and
integrations into other tools (such as IDEs). My goal down the line,
is to make package installation as easy as clicking in a GUI. With
Donatien Grolaux, we have already developed such a prototype, but the
project management utilities where still too rudimentary and the
prototype remains unsatisfactory. With `ozmake', I wish to develop
these project management utilities, on top of which we will be able to
build better tools for managing a Mozart installation and better tools
for developers to package and distribute their contributions.
Basically, from a user point of view, I want to achieve the
convenience of RPMs (I do not know the equivalent on Windows), but
easier and simpler and portable and with an intuitive front-end
and... I'll stop here, I think :-)

definitely want something which makes packaging transparent.
Once we have released Mozart 1.1.1, I'll announce a pre-alpha version
of ozmake and solicit some feedback.
Cheers,
