sure thing - {Connection.take 'ticket'} worked out fine...

Summary of Erik's RemoteManager tests:

localhost works with sh
realhost works with sh

rsh always gives:  Connection refused

and virtual always barfs:

So look like I have a "firewall" problem (no rsh) permission at least 
:-( I'll resolve that and have another go.
